Cash payment calculations

US Dollar earnings are calculated as the sales value of Sticky Coins earned, net of refunds/frauds, payment (e.g. app store, card processor) fees, applicable taxes, and the Sticky Fees.

All variables may vary across developers/creators and over time.

Examples:

  • Developer A has received 10k StickyCoins for in-game purchases in their game. 5% of those StickyCoins purchases were refunded or fraudulent. Developer A's game is popular among users who purchase StickyCoins in small bundles, resulting in an average price of 25c. 50% of sales were on the App Store, which charges a 30% fee, and 50% of sales were on the web, with 4% fees (resulting in average payment fee of 17%), and most sales are in jurisdictions that don't withhold tax, resulting in an average tax rate of 3%. Sticky Fees are 30%. Developer A will receive 10,000 * 0.25 * (1 - 0.05) * (1 - 0.17 - 0.03) * (1 - 30 %) = $1,330
  • Developer B has also received 10k StickyCoins. But upon review 20% of purchases were refunded or fraudulent. Developer B's game is popular among users who purchase Sticky Coins in big bundles and subscriptions, resulting in an average price of 15c. 100% of sales were on the App Store, with 30% fees A large percentage of sales are in jurisdictions which tax these sales, resulting in an average tax rate of 10%. Sticky Fees are 30%. Developer B will receive 10,000 * 0.15 * (1 - 0.2) * (1 - 0.3 - 0.1) * (1 - 0.3) = $504

Calculations are gross of bank fees for transfer of payments. Final payments will have fees deducted.

Eligible earned coins

Only earned coins, unlocked and earned in accordance with rules are eligible for calculation of payments.

  • Earned coins are received when you make a sale (e.g. of a collectible) on Sticky. Coins you buy or receive as bonuses or prizes are not earned and are not eligible for payment. You can check the breakdown of your coin balance into 'bought', 'earned' and 'bonus' in the wallet section of the Sticky app.
  • Certain actions in Sticky (e.g. placing a bid for a collectible),lock the coins involved. Coins can be unlocked (e.g. by cancelling the bid) via the wallet section of the Sticky app. To be eligible for payments, coins must be unlocked. Requesting a payment then locks the coins involved.
  • Earned coins resulting from sales that are found to break Sticky rules (e.g. a collectible that violates copyright, artificial sales between multiple accounts created by a member) are not eligible for payments and may be cancelled.
